At St. Christopher’s we understand giving as a practical way to express our gratitude to God; for the many blessings that we have received, and above all for God’s redeeming love for us and for the whole creation. “Stewardship” is the commitment to practice a life of managing responsibly the gifts given to us by God. Our time, our knowledge and skills, our money, in short – all of the resources at our disposal are both blessings for us and resources to be used for the care and blessing of God’s world.
All parishioners are asked to prayerfully make a commitment of financial support to the parish each year. These funds support the clergy and staff salaries, the day-to-day care and maintenance of our buildings, and the costs of our programs and ministries.
Bequests and memorial gifts are added to an endowment fund. A percentage of the fund’s income supplements the annual budget as necessary, while allowing the principal to grow over time ensuring that resources will be available for the continuance of the parish’s ministry for many years to come.
