Mission & Outreach

As Christians, we are called to a ministry of reconciliation; of all people to each other and to God.  We dedicate ourselves to this work in a variety of ways, seeking always to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.”

BARGAIN BOX

For over sixty years members of St. Christopher’s Guild have organized a twice yearly rummage sale (April & September), affectionately known as Christopher Fox’s Bargain Box.  After things were shut down by Covid-19 in 2020, we resumed our sale in the Fall of 2022.  We now hold one sale annually on the last Friday in September.  The funds raised are designated for the support of a wide variety of charitable organizations in northeast Ohio as well as national and international ministries of the Episcopal Church. Funds raised help to support The Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry, The Cleveland Food Bank, The Diocese of Jerusalem, Episcopal West Side Ministry, Family Promise, The Gathering Place, Hospice of the Western Reserve, Meals on Wheels, New Directions, Women Safe, and The City Mission.

LOVING GOD, LOVING OUR NEIGHBOR, CHANGING THE WORLD

Throughout the year parishioners find ways to directly give of themselves in service to others.  We joyfully participate in the Backpacks for Kids program in the fall.  During the season of Advent we have “Mary’s Baby Shower” to donate items to Providence House.  Valentines and lovingly filled baskets are delivered to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.  On the 4th Friday of every month parishioners help to serve at the “Blessed Are We” free community suppers, served at our sister parish of St. Andrew’s in Cleveland.  On the 4th Saturday of every month parishioners volunteer at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mayfield Heights.  Each Sunday baskets of toiletries for Veterans and contributions for Christ Presbyterian’s Food Bank in Chesterland are brought to the altar to be blessed.
