We are grateful for the numerous responses we received to our recent Stewardship Survey. We learned a great deal regarding what is important to you about our shared life and ministry. We also were confirmed in our belief that we are a parish filled with people who have a mature understanding of what it means to be a steward of all the blessings that God has given into our care. As one person put it, “Stewardship is everything we do with everything that we have all of the time.”
Many of you expressed the desire to become more deeply involved in the life and ministries of our parish. You also want opportunities to invite others to “come and see” what a faith life in the parish of St Christopher’s is like. We will follow up on these themes with further conversation and will seek to develop our programs and ministries in response to areas that you have identified for focus. If you have not yet completed the Survey, you may access it through a link on the parish website’s Stewardship page. We want, need and respect your input.
Proverbs 27:23 speaks with holy wisdom to the issue of good stewardship:
“Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.”
St. Christopher’s is enjoying new energy, healthy growth, a balanced budget and a strong vibrant congregation. Therefore, we ask for your financial support to further expand our programs and ministries in 2019. Our Stewardship Surveys and Proverbs 27:23 call us to “give attention” to the music program, Christian education and formation programs, staff compensation, and further development of outreach and service ministries. We intend to do all of that.
Please prayerfully consider your ability to help us meet our increased needs for the 2019 budget year. Please return a Commitment Card with your intention of financial support to the Church Office by November 1st so that the Vestry can finalize our 2019 budget prior to the end of the calendar year.
As always, we give thanks for you and for our partnership in sharing God’s love with the world.
